PRATA House

A young couple wanted to redesign a floor of their residence for themselves with a carpet area of about 3000 sq.ft. They wanted a family lounge area, a master bedroom, a kid’s bedroom for 2 girls, a kids play area, powder washroom and an office space.

The idea was to provide a sense of modern vibrant luxury with sleek minimal elements and bold colours for the couple with some playfulness for the young kids. As we enter the floor, we walk into a large foyer area which leads to all the zones of the house. Towards the front are the kids play area, powder room and the office space. To the right, are the kid’s bedroom and the lounge. To the left is the master bedroom.

Since both kids are girls and they wanted more pinks and soft pastels in their rooms, the backdrop of the beds are carefully designed with customized animal themed wallpapers to go with the pastel pink fluting panels and are further adorned with clouds and stars around them. The washroom has a combination of dark grey and white tiles and an abstract flooring pattern with just the mirror wall painted in a pastel pink shade to complement the bedroom.

The kids play area is designed as a colourful vibrant haven for the kids with a play house and a lot of storage space for toys. The space brings together all the pastel shades used in the house together to form a vibrant and a soothing combination.

Since the master bedroom is a more private space, the clients wanted their room to be very different from the rest of the rooms. So it is designed to have a more modern and a darker theme while the carefully selected furniture and decor items add a hint of luxury.
