AREA: 130 sqm.
LOCATION: Pragati Maidan, New Delhi

The Brief involved designing an interactive experience zone for a leading veneer and plywood manufacturer. The space provided to us was 130 sqm. Lying on one side of the grand passage and having a secondary access from the secondary aisle.

The program broadly consisted of space for showcasing veneer products in its raw and finished forms, a space for private veneer selection and display along with spaces carved out for discussion tables and meeting tables.

As the display was supposed to be for raw and finished products alike, the idea was to create a raw and industrial looking space which blends both. The outer façade was mainly of MS framed structure which acted as a support for polished veneer samples which were randomly placed, to go along with these finished products raw plywood was chosen to complete the façade structure, which was hung from the ceiling.

The furniture including the office tables and workstations were all custom made with M.S. sections, mesh and carefully sourced parts and modules out of airplanes and cargo ships from boneyards. Abstract forms were explored while designing the office tables and incorporated in design. Lastly planters and greenery was introduced into this scheme to make it more lively .
